Whether you’re an avid traveler or just indulge in the occasional get-away there are a few gadgets and accessories that can significantly improve your quality of life while travelling. Some are simple and obvious and others are items you never knew you needed. Your welcome!
Noise Cancelling Headphones
This one may be obvious, but a decent set of noise cancelling head phones will make or break an 8 hour flight while you’re sitting next to a screaming baby or that old man snoring. The key is getting ones that are labeled noise cancelling, these typically sit over the ear for better coverage and comfort.
If you’ve ever flown you have seen those circular travel pillows all over. But if you’ve used one you may have had neck issue afterwards.
Well there is now a better and more ergonomic pillow option for those that need a little more neck support, and it is so much more comfy! Tip: Works best with a window seat.
If you’re like me, you procrastinate packing until the very last minute and the last thing you want to do before a 5am flight is neatly fold and organize your clothes just-so into your suitcase.
That’s why a luggage organizer is my lifesaver! You can label compartments and the mesh bags are great for when you want to put your dirty clothes separate from the clean.
Ever open your suitcase and you shampoo spilled all over your brand new outfits you bought for your vacation? Yeah not a good start. Preventative maintenance is key!
Are you traveling internationally? Do you know what type of outlets your destination country uses? Don’t get caught in a foreign country without and outlet adapter! There is a large variety of adapters believe it or not! Why it isn’t universal beats me, but here is a list of the many types: http://goo.gl/mh8GNo
If you’re going to be away for a longer period of time, instead of packing multiple suitcases (and paying the outrageous airline fees) reuse some of your clothes. If you just can’t wear the same outfits out, try re-using your pajamas, active wear and swim wear. This portable washing system will save you time and money which is precious while traveling.
No, you don’t want to be glued to your cell phone on vacation, but you should also never travel without one! It’s always best to have a back up battery or better yet a solar charger to keep your phone juiced when outlets aren’t near.
Okay so this item may be best for those vertically challenged like myself, but sitting on a plane where your legs are cramped and your feet barely touch the ground is not comfortable AT ALL. After sitting in such a position I personally have issues with my knees, so have a foot rest to stretch out not only provides comfort but prevents stiff knees for the start of my trip.
